Get a New Server - Save Time and Money!

Working in my industry I constantly come across businesses with varying levels and degrees of problems.

One of the major things that I come across every day is a lack of reliable infrastructure.
Your server is the central point of your office infrastructure. This is your window to the world, your storage repository, your communications center and your redundancy. If your server goes down, your business follows.

So, while the big phone companies are telling you to go wireless, the internet companies are telling you to work from home and the enterprise software companies are telling you to buy their software, they are not telling you one little thing.

WITHOUT A RELAIBLE SERVER, ALL OF THIS STUFF IS WORTHLESS!!!

Being an HP partner, you probably expect to say s few magic words: Blade, Virtualisation, Windows Server 2008!

Alas, no: I am going to say one thing: HP ML350

This is not cutting edge technology. It does not run the latest Microsoft hoopla. It is not a blade server.

This is a very simple, reliable server with up to 6 SATA drives. It can hold a couple of TB of data. It has built in redundancy in a RAID 5 array and it will reliably run your business using Microsoft Small Business Server 2003.

The best part – they are quite inexpensive. Depending on what you need, they range from about $3-7K. This is good when your average 2008 server with your user CALs and hot-swap drives will generally set you back something more akin to $10-15k.

So weigh this up – lets say you spend $5k on a server. This will be good for 4 years. That is 48 months. That works out to $131.66 per month when paying on your average Microsoft finance rates. Most people would be able to do this without affecting their business. On a well paid sales exec or engineer, this is the equivalent of one hour down-time per month on your old server!!!

Lets look at the advantages:

1. Reliable infrastructure means more uptime
2. Data is safe
3. Redundancy means that failures are easily recovered and hardly noticed by the users
4. Storage capacity means centralised and transparent data repository
5. Reliable communication means that emails don’t get lost!

So now you have the facts. Ask me about the HP ML350 and I will give you some additional information.

I recommend you do this soon. Click Here

  1. I agree Mark, I run an IT consultancy myself and in my 15 years of IT experience, I have seen managment trying to cut corners on IT infrastructre. When things goes to $#%T then they dont have a problem forking out the money. Thats why they say Stitch in time saves nice.

    BTW: nice blog.
